Now, let's do something different for a change. This is just a comparison, not a versus. This is just a figure comparison, not a character comparison. The two contenders are Kibaranger from the Chogokin Gosei Sentai Dairanger figure line and the White Ranger from the White Ranger's Shark Cycle... just the figure. Let's start.
Chogokin Kibaranger
Kibaranger is actually pretty nice without the shield, innacurate but nice. It has the armbands (which represent the Gold border for the sleeves) which are pre-applied. The leg and arm stickers you have to put and the Dairanger emblem is put on the chest, it's a nice addition but you wont see it again after you put on the shield. The figure has the sculpted "sash" that goes vertically across the body, it isn't painted but it kinda looks weird. The belt is pretty accurate in detail aswell. The figure has nice articulation except for the in and out movement for the legs... that's not a big issue though. It has two holsters. The hands have holes.
With the shield it looks great, you don't really notice the "sash" and the shield is a nice chrome gold. The back of the shield isn't really accurate, however it still looks nice and I'm able to overlook it just a bit. The emblem is just a sticker... The shield does hinder the arm articulation quite a bit.
The Helmet is nice. Painted a nice gold and kinda messy black paint, the whiskers are painted in.
Comes with a nicely detailed Star Cutter and Byakkoshinken molded in White Plastic.
"White Ranger's Shark Cycle" White Ranger Figure
The figure is nice with the shield off, the chest has diamonds but they're not really noticable. The figure doesn't come with stickers but it still looks nice, not great of fantastic but ok. The belt is innacurate and it does come with one holster instead of two like the Chogokin one. The holster is also painted gold which is nice. The belt however is not chrome, it's just painted bronze. It does have nice articulation, just like the Chogokin one except it has in and out movement. The hands have pegs.
The shield makes the figure look nicer with the accurate back and sides and a sculpted emblem which I do prefer over the Chogokin version. With stickers it would have looked nicer and maybe with an accurate belt and Chrome. The shield doesn't really hinder it as bad.
Helmet is nicely sculted with a bronze and nicely applied black paint and the whiskers are white.
It comes with a nice Saba Sword and it has a hole.
Comparison
Here's the deal, the White Ranger a nicer shield and painted holster. Kibaranger has a better helmet sculpt and Chromed Shield and belt, it also has nice shiny gold stickers. The White ranger as nicer applied paint.
The Whte Ranger has an accurate back and better articulation.
The white ranger has a nicer sculpted Saba Sword. Kibaranger is missing it's face...
The figures are both nice, each of them have good and bad things, it's your pick on which one's the nicer one. Leave a comment below.
