So the next set of figures is... Shinkenger, which was the 3rd Sentai I watched and the 2nd one I finished. Samurai Sentai Shinkenger (侍戦隊シンケンジャー), the 33rd entry of Toei's Super Sentai Series and one of my favorites. Shinkenger is one of those shows that I go back an watch over and over again. Shinken Red ( シンケンレッド), Shiba Takeru (志葉 丈瑠), is the leader and lord (殿 tono)of the Shinkengers. He is strict and hard and could be classified as a Tsundere in my opinion. Owns the Lion Origami (獅子折神 Shishi Origami), and his signature weapon is the Rekka Daizantou (烈火大斬刀 Blazing Great Slicing Sword) with the help of the common disk (共通ディスク Kyōtsū Disuku). I say he's one of the best Reds of the millennium and one of my top 5 at the moment. He's a bit hesitant to work with others due to a certain situation he's in and tries to distance himself from his retainers, he can also be brutally honest and do things you might not expect. He's been called a liar, in mind and body. I'll reveal more details about certain characters as we progress with the review. Shinkenger is a masterpiece in my opinion, the music the setting and the story is a tenoutaten. Let's a move on.
Box
The box is pretty awesome and I like the amount of Red in the box, the back some really nice pictures of the figure. It has the kanji for fire (火) and says Shinken Red and it also has the kana for it. If you open up the box the picture of Shinken Red continues to the left.
The top has Shinken Red and Takesu Shiba, it has the pentagon with the Kanji for fire which is basically his Origami (折神) in emblem mode.
Contents
There are two trays which have the hands, shodo phone, Shishi Origami in both modes and the Rekka Daizantou in a separate tray.
Figure
So, the figure is pretty freaking awesome, It was the 1st or 2nd Sentai/Ranger Team I have ever finished, I always wanted to finish a team but never accomplished, I usually got Red or some other color, the 1st Pink I had ever purchased was from Power Rangers S.P.D, the 2nd and last prior to my interest in collecting was Mystic Force Pink Legend Mode from Power Rangers Mystic Force. Anyways, the build on Shinken Red is pretty slim, a little too slim but it's better than most muscle build figures. The Shoulders were a weird joint when I first saw them and looked very off but now I've gotten used to them, they're a slightly different shade of Red than the rest of the toy.
Since he's a figuarts the articulation is top notch and the detail is pretty freaking good. The feet and hands are ball jointed and the legs and feet have double joints. The thighs are Type two, they are ball jointed and have another extra joint for higher kicks and it can turn the legs at the thigh. The Akibarangers also have type two thighs. The waist is ball jointed and it also has an ab crunch and the neck is ball jointed.

| With the extra joint his leg goes up very high. |
The amount of detail on this is outstanding however it missing one tiny bit of detail, that is the Shiba crest on the holster. It does have sentai gloves and boots, aswell as the zipper in the back and on the boots. The helmet is pretty nice but It just looks a little off, the Power Rangers Samurai 4" heads look more like the actual helmets that appeared in the show.
So yeah, he's very poseable and that detail just makes this figure Eye Candy!
Accessories
Shinken Red comes with 3 parts of hands and 3 extra hands for posing or other things.
You have the standard fists which you can also use to recreate his Animal Forest Sentai Lion pose from the Shinkenger returns movie.
Relaxed hands for relaxed poses.
holding hands for holding, and due to his amount of articulation and since the design doesn't limit the articulation like Akibarangers you can have him hold it with both hands.
A slightly different holding hand which IMO holds the Rekka Daizantou a lot better.
A hand for Holding Shishi Origami in emblem mode.
And a Hand for the Shodo Phone in brush mode.
The Shodo phone is nicely detailed.
The common disk is nicely detailed with a sticker.
The Shinkenmaru ((シンケンマル) is nicely detailed bu is missing that red line, you can also put the Common disk on it, there are some other little inaccuracies in this item.
It looks awesome when held though.
Emblem mode for the Shishi Origami which is nicely detailed and has all the folds the toy has.
You could do a lot with it rather than just holding it.
In animal mode it's also nicely detailed and it even has points of articulation in the legs considering how small it is. It has the detail for the Shiba clan on the legs too.
It's a pretty awesome accessory.
Rekka Daizantou
The Rekka Daizantou, the biggest Sword in Sentai History even bigger than Go-On Red's street saber which I believe was the biggest prior to this. It's even taller than him, the Rekka Daizantou is pretty difficult to pose without a stand.
The Lion Disk (獅子ディスク Shishi Disuku) Is a lot larger than the Common Disk and wont fit on the Shinkenmaru and the Rekka Daizantou is nicely detailed all around, It does not turn into the Cannon Mode (大筒モード Ōzutsu Mōdo) unfortunately.
It's large and heavy but it just looks fantastic.
Dislikes and Would Likes
Maybe a Tiger Disk (虎ディスク Tora Disuku) and a smaller Lion Disk for the Shikenmaru, also the Shodophone in phone mode, that's about it.
Overall
I say he's a fantastic figure, I love this, his accessories will allow you to recreate several poses and stances in the show. Some really cool poses to some silly poses that are canon. Also because of Power Rangers Samurai's success in toy sales the S.H. Figuarts Shinken Red has been released in Toys R Us, I'm not sure if he's still around but it does have a sticker and different instructions, I highly recommend this figure.
